About Weibel Family Vineyards & Winery
When Rudolf and his son Fred Weibel, Sr., came to California
they brought with them classic, old-world winemaking techniques
and traditions, combined with a personal commitment to quality
and excellence.
Today, Weibel Vineyards is under the direction of Fred Weibel
Jr., President and Owner. Working along with him is Gary
Habluetzel, Fred’s cousin, as Vice President in charge of
production. Together they carry on the traditions of hard work and
excellence established many years ago by Rudolf Weibel.
Weibel Family wines come from the 500-acre H&W
Estate Vineyards, which are owned by Fred Weibel and his cousin
and partner Gary Habluetzal.
Weibel Family Vineyards & Winery was a pioneer in the Mendocino
County appellation, establishing a winery and vineyard in
Redwood Valley in 1972. The Weibel’s relocated their bottling
facility in April 1996 to Woodbridge, California because the
vineyards in Mission San Jose became more valuable for homes
than for vineyard use. Today, the winery remains committed to
Mendocino County with their H&W Estate Vineyards and a tasting
room in Hopland.
