Weibel Family Wines

Weibel Family Wines continue a long heritage established by Rudolph Weibel in 1869, and continued today with Fred Weibel, Jr.

Famous over the years for Weibel Green Hungarian, now known as GH, and their line of California champagnes and naturally flavored sparkling wines, Weibel Family Wines also include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah from their Estate Vineyard in Mendocino County, California.

Weibel Family Wines represents our finest efforts from the family's estate H&W Vineyards in Redwood and Potter Valleys in Mendocino County. The Weibel Family owns 500 acres of vineyards planted with such grapes as cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, merlot, zinfandel, syrah, pinot noir, and sauvignon blanc. Over 200 of the 500 acres are certified organic, with more undergoing the certification process.

Mendocino County is noted for a myriad of excellent wine-growing regions. Redwood Valley was first planted with grapes in the late 1800's and, due to its distance from the coast, its vineyards grow cabernet sauvignon, merlot, zinfandel, sauvignon blanc, and syrah well. Potter Valley slightly more north is excellent for pinot noir and chardonnay.

Choice vineyard sections, lot selection, and hands-on winemaking all distinguish Weibel Family Wines. The wines are limited in production. They represent the proud heritage of four generations of winemaking.

Weibel Family Wines also includes Weibel Family Vineyards & Winery's select bottling for Mendocino Coro, the county wineries' collective effort to create a signature wine that captures the quality, spirit, and essence of Mendocino County wines.
